MEET THE KLOESEL FAMILY

children, Michael and Ashley Kloesel
are platinum members and the new
faces of an Angel Fire business.
The family of six have basically grown
up on the resort’s ﬂowy slopes, with
Michael introducing Ashley to the Land of Enchantment after
having their second child around 2006. All of their kids have
grown up skiing in the area since age 5. “I’ve been coming to
Angel Fire almost my whole life,” Michael said. “New Mexico is
the playground for Texans who want to ski. I ﬁrst visited with a
church group in Jr. High school, and have been coming back
When it comes to the recreation activities Angel Fire Resort has
to oﬀer, Michael said that having a platinum membership allows
he and his wife to feel like they can just show up and go. “The
membership really makes it feel like this is OUR mountain,” he
enthused. “It pays for itself in the amount of activities that we
and our active children regularly enjoy.” From ﬁshing and hiking
to biking and golﬁng, the entire family participates in everything

As for the community aspect, the family is all-in. Sean, 14, and
15-year-old Matthew are looking into working for the resort or
other villagers. Sean wants to be an apprentice ski instructor
and Mathew wants to work with someone as a mechanic. “We
feel like the community has just opened their arms to us as new-
comers to the area,” Michael said. “I love being able to breathe
SKI WITH A PATROLLER PROGRAM
This winter season we will be oﬀering the opportunity to ski with Angel Fire Resort Ski Patrol. Join us every
week to take a few runs with a member of our patrol team. Learn about safety on the mountain, how
patrollers do their job, and why they are crucial to our mountain operations. A patroller will meet you at
the Summit Chapel between the Chile Express and the Southwest Flyer every Wednesday at 11:30am, and
on Saturdays to ski with our very own Ski Patrol Director Hawk Ferenczy.
ANGEL FIRE WINTER CARNIVAL
AND THE LAST SHOVEL RACES
Join us this winter for the Angel Fire Winter Carnival and the LAST
Shovel Races. We will be celebrating all weekend long with carnival rides
and activities, Box Race Derby down Exhibition, and our LAST Shovel
Race. Come out and enjoy a weekend full of family fun and celebration
from January 31 to February 2.
